Dan Fionte is an artist and educator, born in Lawrence Massachusetts in 1985 and raised in Andover Massachusetts, a northern suburb of Boston. Dan has been drawing since he was old enough to hold a pencil, and although making art was not always the first thing on his mind, as he grew he realized it was his true passion. Although Dan is primarily self-taught, he received some private tutoring in the visual arts and attended several classes at the Essex Art Center in Lawrence Massachusetts, where he now teaches. Dan's primary focus is two-dimensional work, drawing, painting, printmaking and illustration. Dan's work covers both realism and abstraction, portraiture and landscape, as well as illustrating stories or ideas.

Dan received a Bachelors of Fine Art in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Tufts University in 2007, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching, concentrating in Fine Art Education with certification in grades 5-12 at Tufts University in 2009. Dan has plans to obtain an MFA or DFA in the future.

Dan's hobbies are various, including cooking, reading, writing, history, collecting interesting objects for documentation, hiking, biking, gaming, and going for drives around New England. These hobbies often play a key role in his art, because it enhances both hobby and art. Dan believes that one should make art rooted in the things they know about and have experienced, and to be inspired by the artistic qualities of the everyday.
